Sikka earned highest salary in FY’18

Infosys’ former CEO and MD Vishal Sikka topped the company’s list of highest paid employees in 2017-18, despite being at the helm of the company for only about five months.

Sikka, who made an unceremonious exit from IT major post a public spat with the promoter group led by NR Narayana Murthy in August 2017, was paid Rs 12.92 crore by the company, according to the annual report of the IT major.

Among current employees, company’s president Mohit Joshi has been the highest paid employee for the fiscal year 2017-18, earning more than company’s Chief Operating Officer UB Pravin Rao and CFO MD Ranganath.

Joshi, who heads Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI), Healthcare and Life Sciences along with Infosys Brazil and Infosys Mexico, took home Rs 10.31 crore during the fiscal year ended March 2018. This is a jump of 51.8% from Rs 6.79 crore that he earned in last fiscal.

Joshi stands second only to Sikka in terms of remuneration.

The highest jump in the remuneration was witnessed by Ranganath, who saw his annual payment jump by 68%. Ranganath took home Rs 7.98 crore in FY18, as against Rs 4.75 crore in 2016-17.

Rao, who was also interim CEO and the MD of the company for four months, saw a mere 5% jump in his annual remuneration.

Rao earned Rs 8.22 crore in FY18, compared with Rs 7.8 crore in FY17.

Company’s new CEO Salil S Parekh’s remuneration stood at Rs 3.98 crore, as he spent only 89 days at the helm of the IT major in 2017-18.
