Hoshiarpur: The Bahujan Samaj Party on Saturday announced Jagjit Chharbarh as its candidate from Patiala Lok Sabha seat.
The information in this regard was shared by the party in-charge of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh Randhir Singh Beniwal.
Punjab BSP chief Jasvir Singh Garhi said Jagjit Chharbarh will fight from Patiala Lok Sabha seat.
He said Chhabarh is the party's state general secretary. Chharbarh had contested elections from the state assembly segments of Rajpura and Ghanaur in 2012 and 2017, respectively.
Patiala Lok Sabha seat is currently represented by Preneet Kaur.
Beniwal said the candidates for the remaining seats will be announced soon.
The Mayawati-led outfit has already announced its candidate from Hoshiarpur, Ferozepur and Sangrur seats.
The BSP has already announced to go solo in the parliamentary polls.
Polling for 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab will take place on June 1.
