In a new podcast series that the BJP is launching on Monday ahead of the Maharashtra elections, lawyer Ujjwal Nikam said that while the bureaucracy was unsure, it was former CM and current deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis who insisted that David Headley depose before an Indian court as a witness.

This deposition eventually helped India conclusively uncover Pakistan’s conspiracy behind the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

The podcast is being hosted by the party’s senior leader and former national vice-president Vinay Sahasrabuddhe. He will speak to several domain experts who will focus on various aspects of the Maha Yuti government in Maharashtra.

The series of podcasts, named Nakki Kay Challay? (What’s exactly happening?), will be hosted on Sahasrabuddhe’s social media platforms and will also be distributed by the BJP.

The series also features Marathi litterateur Sadananda More, Dalit Chamber founder Milind Kamble, rural development expert Popat Pawar, as well as party leaders Smriti Irani and Devendra Fadnavis, with each podcast lasting less than an hour.

"This is perhaps the first of its kind podcast which has been conducted by a politician to educate voters and help them take a call based on the performance of the incumbent government," Sahasrabuddhe said.

Assembly Elections 2024 | The Maharashtra Assembly polls will take place against the backdrop of a fractured political landscape in the western state where the Shiv Sena and NCP will be going up against the Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar factions, even as the BJP and Congress try to make their mark. Meanwhile, in Jharkhand, the JMM faces a new challenge after Hemant Soren's recent arrest and Champai, a longstanding party member, joining the BJP. The Haryana election resulted in a shock loss for Congress, which was looking to galvanize on the Lok Sabha poll performance, while J&K also saw the grand old party eventually stepping away from the cabinet, with Omar Abdullah's JKNC forming government. It remains to be seen if the upcoming polls help BJP cement its position further or provide a fillip to I.N.D.I.A.
