Sukhvinder Sukhu, Revanth Reddy, DK Shivakumar, and Pawan Khera will hold a press conference in Mumbai to expose 'BJP's lies', the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee said.

“The BJP, through newspaper advertisements, have attempted to mislead the public by falsely claiming that the guarantees given during the Congress-led Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh assembly elections were not fulfilled. These accusations need to be addressed.” MPCC said.

“The Congress party lodged a complaint with the Election Commission, demanding action against the BJP. This is an attempt by the BJP to spread false propaganda against the Congress, to which the Congress is responding appropriately.

"Despite being in power at the centre for 10 years and in the state for seven and a half years, the BJP has nothing significant to show in terms of achievements.

"Since they cannot gain votes based on work, the BJP has resorted to spreading rumours and false propaganda. Hundreds of crores of rupees from corruption and commissions are being wasted on this.

"Through their financial power, the BJP is spreading false propaganda against the Congress-led coalition. The Congress has begun implementing the guarantees given during the Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh elections, benefiting millions of people in these states,” it said.

Assembly Elections 2024 | The Maharashtra Assembly polls will take place against the backdrop of a fractured political landscape in the western state where the Shiv Sena and NCP will be going up against the Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar factions, even as the BJP and Congress try to make their mark. Meanwhile, in Jharkhand, the JMM faces a new challenge after Hemant Soren's recent arrest and Champai, a longstanding party member, joining the BJP. The Haryana election resulted in a shock loss for Congress, which was looking to galvanize on the Lok Sabha poll performance, while J&K also saw the grand old party eventually stepping away from the cabinet, with Omar Abdullah's JKNC forming government. It remains to be seen if the upcoming polls help BJP cement its position further or provide a fillip to I.N.D.I.A.
