Mumbai: Reiterating the ‘ek hai toh safe hai’ narrative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday asserted that he has only lent voice to what was in the minds of people even as he accused the Congress of dividing the SC-ST-OBC community.
“People have adopted ‘ek hai to safe hai’…in fact it was there in the minds of people…I only lent my voice to it,” Modi said during an interaction - ‘Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot’ - with BJP workers of poll-bound Maharashtra through the NaMo App on Saturday.
During the interaction on the digital platform, Modi lashed out at the Congress and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (I.N.D.I.A.) opposition bloc.
“Congress knows its history. Till the time SC-ST-OBC communities in the country did not become aware, Congress used to form a government with full majority at the Centre,” he said.
“But ever since the SC-ST-OBC community has united, the position of the Congress has been weakening. Therefore, the Congress now wants to break the SC-ST-OBC community to such an extent that no strength is left against the Congress,” said Modi.
The Prime Minister said that the Maha Yuti (NDA) government is making efforts to empower one and all. “The Maha Yuti government is trying to empower every section of the society. This is the difference between our government and the MVA government….people are feeling this difference,” said Modi.
On the BJP-led dispensation, Modi said, “The people of Maharashtra are very impressed with the two and a half years of the MahaYuti government. Wherever I have gone, I have seen this love. They also want that this government should remain in place for the next five years. It is echoing in Maharashtra - BJP-Mahayuti ahe, tar gati ahe, Maharashtrachi pragati ahe,” and cheered for the BJP workers.
“All of you workers are strong soldiers of BJP, you people are direct representatives of Modi. People feel reassured by telling you their hopes and aspirations. They feel that if they tell you, they have told Modi. I also try to ensure that the ground reality reaches me through the workers,” said Modi.
Assembly Elections 2024 | The Maharashtra Assembly polls will take place against the backdrop of a fractured political landscape in the western state where the Shiv Sena and NCP will be going up against the Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar factions, even as the BJP and Congress try to make their mark. Meanwhile, in Jharkhand, the JMM faces a new challenge after Hemant Soren's recent arrest and Champai, a longstanding party member, joining the BJP. The Haryana election resulted in a shock loss for Congress, which was looking to galvanize on the Lok Sabha poll performance, while J&K also saw the grand old party eventually stepping away from the cabinet, with Omar Abdullah's JKNC forming government. It remains to be seen if the upcoming polls help BJP cement its position further or provide a fillip to I.N.D.I.A.
