Konathala Ramakrishna of Congress and Som Marandi of BJP have something in common.
They have one of the lowest victory margins in the Lok Sabha elections.
Ramakrishna won the Anakapalli seat in Andhra Pradesh in 1989 by nine votes. Marandi also won Bihar’s Rajmahal seat in 1998 with a margin of just nine votes.
In 1996, Congress’ Satyajitsinh Dilipsinh Gaekwad won Gujarat’s Baroda by 17 seats in 1996 while M S Sivaswamy of DMK won Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchendur by 26 votes in 1971.
