Last Updated IST

A hung assembly is an occurrence wherein none of the contesting political parties receives an absolute majority, which is necessary to form the government.

In such a scenario, the single largest party generally seeks support from other political parties.

However, other parties can also form a coalition to form a government and dislodge the single-largest party to the opposition stand.
