Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan is all set to share screen with Superstar Rajinikanth in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s highly anticipated film Coolie.
For the past few months, rumours have been rife that Lokesh Kanagaraj was in discussions with Aamir Khan for a special appearance in his film. After two months of negotiations, the talks were finalised, and Aamir agreed to take on the cameo. DH has learnt that Aamir Khan has agreed for the cameo and recently signed the agreement and has given the dates.
A source close to the project said, 'Yes, Aamir Khan has signed the contract. His role is brief yet impactful, and this addition has brought renewed energy to the team, and has taken the film to the next level.”
Speaking further about Aamir's role, the source added, “His role will be very short yet powerful just like in Lokesh's pervious films. Aamir’s addition will also be like that and the theatres are going to erupt with whistle and cheer seeing superstar Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan’s scenes on the big screen. Lokesh is a master in building up the character and one can see his magic in his previous films.”
“While the shoot is primarily scheduled at Vizag, it may be relocated due to Rajinikanth's health concerns. As of now the production is going as planned, but if necessary, a set will be built in Chennai where Aamir and Rajini's scenes will be filmed,” concluded the source.
Known for his remarkable performances, Aamir Khan will appear alongside the superstar Rajini on screen after three decades. The duo was last seen together in the 1995 movie Aatank Hi Aatank, where Juhi Chawla was also a part of the cast.
Produced by Sun Pictures, Coolie is an action-packed Tamil thriller, with Rajinikanth playing the titular character. The ensemble cast includes Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and others.
