Actor Varun Sharma says that his ability to 'process everything in silence' and the support of his family helped him cope with professional difficulties.

"Sometimes dealing with things in silence really comes in handy. During the difficult times, I would simply process everything in silence and think about whatever was happening in my career. The support of my family came in handy," he told DH in an exclusive interview.

Varun made his Bollywood debut with the successful comedy-drama Fukrey, which hit the screens in 2013. The positive response to the movie opened new avenues for 'Chucha', establishing him as a popular name. He, however, was not able to capitalise on the opportunity as films such as Dolly Ki Doli, FryDay and Raabta did not do too well at the box office.

The Rohit Shetty-directed movie Dilwale too did not benefit his career as much as expected as the film revolved around Shah Rukh Khan's character. He ultimately bounced back with Chhichhore, which featured the late Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead.

"I feel blessed for the journey I have had so far as every experience has counted," he added.

The star is hoping that his upcoming movie Roohi too proves to be another good experience for him. Varun says that he took it up as he was 'excited about the script'.

"I was excited about the script. Roohi is a sister of Stree as it has plenty of mad fun and horror. I am a fan of being scared and laughing at the same time," he added.

Roohi is a horror-comedy that has piqued the curiosity of the fans as it features a strong cast headlined by powerhouse performer Rajkummar Rao and Dhadak star Janhvi Kapoor. It was supposed to hit the screens last year but that did not happen due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is slated to release in theatres on March 11.

It remains to be seen whether Roohi does well at the box office as this will be the first major Hindi movie to hit the screens after theatres were allowed to operate at full capacity.
