Despite being an industry outsider, Nimrat Kaur is one such actress who has proven her mettle by carving out a niche space for herself with consistently strong performances amid fierce competition while weathering various controversies.
Born in Pilani, Rajasthan, to an Army officer, Nimrat Kaur is a self-made woman who carved her path to success. After finishing her education in New Delhi, her interest in the world of glamour took her to Mumbai where she began her showbiz journey as a print model. She was gaining attention in the commercial world when she decided to join theatre to refine her acting skills.
Nimrat tested the waters in acting by featuring in music videos such as Tera Mera Pyar by Kumar Sanu and Yeh Kya Hua by Shreya Ghoshal. In 2012, Nimrat made her Bollywood debut with Vasan Bala's Peddlers. However, her breakthrough came with the Dairy Milk ad, which brought her overnight fame, and since then, there has been no turning back.
Following that, Nimrat appeared in notable films such as Lunchbox (2013), Airlift (2016), Dasvi (2022), and Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video (2023). Alongside her film career, she also took on roles in short films, TV shows, and web series.
Apart from her acting career, Nimrat often made news for her personal life. She was at the centre of controversies due to her rumoured relationships with celebrities, including a renowned cricketer. In 2018, reports emerged about her alleged romance with Ravi Shastri, then Team India’s head coach, though both Nimrat and Shastri categorically denied the claims.
Rumours about Nimrat dating her Airlift co-star Akshay Kumar circulated for a while, but they eventually died down. Later, she was linked to Abhishek Bachchan, her co-star from Dasvi.
Nimrat has once again made headlines as social media buzzes with rumours of her alleged relationship with Abhishek Bachchan. Many speculate that she is the reason behind the reported tension between Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Although the rumours have been circulating for weeks, both Nimrat and Abhishek have chosen not to respond and have remained silent on the matter.
While the status of her relationship with Abhishek Bachchan remains unclear, Nimrat is a passionate admirer of his father, Amitabh Bachchan. She greatly admires Big B and has posted several heartfelt tributes to him on her social media.
