The makers of the eagerly-awaited Hollywood biggie The Suicide Squad have unveiled the trailer of the film much to the delight of fans. The video promises to be a treat for those fond of the superhero/supervillain genre. It features plenty of action sequences, punch dialogues, gags and a sly Covid-19 reference. The general feeling is that the flick has the makings of a blockbuster.

The Suicide Squad has been directed by James Gunn, who had wielded the microphone the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, and appears to up his alley given its multi-character setting. The movie brings back some of the characters seen in the first part with Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie, being the most notable of the lot. She seems to be a lot whackier than expected, a clear indication that Gunn has worked his wonders.

The film also features a bunch of new characters, which suggests that The Suicide Squad is going to be a lot bigger than anticipated. John Cena as Peacemaker makes his presence felt in the trailer, upping the funkiness quotient. The WWE star, who has been a part of films such as The Marine and 12 Rounds, may be on the verge of making it big in Hollywood. He is part of the action-packed F9 and The Suicide Squad may just be the icing on the cake for ‘The Champ’.

Idris Elba also appears to be a potential scene stealer here. A lot, however, depends on whether his character gets enough scope in The Suicide Squad.

The film is slated to hit the screens in India in multiple languages on May 6. The phenomenal response to the monster movie Godzilla vs Kong indicates that the Indian audience is game for a big-screen experience despite the Covid-19 issue. The Suicide Squad might rake in the moolah if the content is up to the mark.
