Actor Alexx O'Nell says that he feels bad when people fail to take note of his work in a film or series as this leads to a situation when he receives no feedback for his performance.
"I feel bad when I read a review that says 'Alexx O'Nell was also in the film'. There have been times when I have been left out in a review. I welcome a negative review but not a situation where I get no review (feedback) at all," he told DH in an exclusive interview.
Alexx, who hails from the United States, began his acting career with a supporting role in the Indian movie Loins of Punjab Presents, which released in 2007. He subsequently carved a niche for himself in the Industry with supporting roles in films such as Cheeni Kum, Malik Ek and Chittagong.
Alexx also tried his luck in Malayalam cinema with Prithviraj's magnum opus Urumi and Mohanlal-starrer Lucifer. He added a new dimension to his career when he made his OTT debut with a role in Inside Edge and went on to act in Bose: Dead or Alive and Aarya.The hard-hitting dramas did not benefit him too much as he was typecast.
The actor finally experimented with his image when he acted alongside Rajkummar Rao in the horror-comedy Roohi. which released on March 11.
"It was different from my previous films and I found Rajkummar to be a lovely guy to work with. Believe it or not., this was my first comedy since 2012 when I worked with Akshay Kumar in Joker," she said.
The film opened to a good response at the box office, collecting around Rs 3 crore on the first day. The perception is that it has done well given the fact that a large section of the audience is still not comfortable visiting theatres due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Roohi may mark the beginning of a new phase in Alexx's career as he has several 'interesting 'projects in hand. He says he's going through a good phase on the work front and enjoying every moment of it.
"What I have in hand is interesting as I am getting to work with some of the finest writers and directors. I also enjoy shooting in lovely locations," added the Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy actor.
Alexx, who will soon be seen in the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Chehre, is gearing up for the release of his latest music video Twenty Days. The single has piqued the curiosity of fans as it is touted to be a departure from his previous videos Bhagavad Gita and Still On My Mind.
