After hotels in Tirupati received bomb threats on Sunday, the ISKCON temple there is reported to have received a bomb threat as well.
As per multiple media reports, the ISKCON temple in Tirupati received a bomb threat via email, which claimed that an explosive would be placed inside the temple premises.
This comes amid a spate of hoax bomb threats in India. Over the past week, hundreds of flights and dozens of commercial establishments have received bomb threats, all of which have turned out to be hoaxes.
Taking cognisance of the matter, the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has called for strict action from social media platforms, which have been used primarily to issue such threats.
