A miffed BJP sitting MP from Punjab and Union minister in Modi’s cabinet, Vijay Sampla, is the first one to remove the word “Chowkidar” prefixed before his name on Twitter.
Union Minister Vijay Sampla, a Dalit face, who was denied party ticket from Hoshiarpur in Punjab, has termed the decision by the party as “Gau Hatya” (cow-slaughter).
Boasting about the development works he undertook in the last five years, a miffed Sampla said his credentials all through have been free from any corruption.
The BJP has fielded Som Prakash from Hoshiarpur. Sampla is a prominent Dalit face in a state which has the highest density of Dalit population at 32%. Saffron leaders are out to pacify Sampla, sources said.
The leader has also been the president of the Punjab BJP. Under his leadership as party president, the BJP won a dismal only 3 seats out of the 23 it contested in the 2017 Assembly elections. One among the three victors in the Assembly polls was Som Prakash who has now replaced Sampla.
