As TMC MP Mahua Moitra battles the ‘cash-for-query’ allegations that may lead to her suspension from parliament, businessman Darshan Hiranandani has cleared his stand on the matter saying that "he did not file the affidavit under pressure from anyone," according to a report on Times Now.
Mahua Moitra had earlier claimed that the Prime Minister's Office "held a proverbial gun" to Hiranandani's head and made him sign a white paper that was later "leaked to the press".
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai had alleged that Moitra accepted favours from Darshan Hiranandani, the CEO of real estate-to-energy group Hiranandani, in exchange for raising questions in Parliament.
