Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited one of the test sites of Virgin Hyperloop One during his visit to the United States.

Fadnavis was accompanied by CEO Rob Lloyd at the facility in Las Vegas.

Earlier this year, the Maharashtra government signed an MoU with British millionaire Richard Branson-led Virgin Group to build the Mumbai-Pune hyperloop.

"During the interaction with Lloyd, Fadnavis discussed the feasibility of fast-tracking the deployment roadmap. He also visited one of the test sites of Virgin Hyperloop One and studied the demonstration track," officials said.

The US-based Virgin Hyperloop One had signed a framework agreement with the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). Once commissioned, the Hyperloop would reduce the travel time between Mumbai and Pune to 25 minutes.
