Amid an ongoing surge in Covid-19 cases, the Goa government on Sunday decided to scrap the SSC board examinations.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in his address to students also said, that students would be promoted based on their marks gained during internal school assessment for the year.

The decision, Sawant said, was taken following a virtual conference with members of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, teachers and representatives of schools' management.

"The Goa Board was asked to constitute a committee to take a decision on the issue. After consulting with the Goa Board, the Education department, teachers and managements the Goa government has taken a decision to cancel the exams of Std X students this year in everybody's interest," the Chief Minister said.

"The students will be assessed according to their internal marks to decide their next promotion. If based on the internal marks some students are falling short for promotion, they will be allowed ATKT," Sawant also said.
