Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai and other state leaders lay wreath on mortal remains of STF jawan Bharat Lal Shahu in Raipur.
Shahu was martyred in an IED blast triggered by the Naxals in Bijapur earlier this week, PTI reported.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday evening visited Kolhapur's Vishalgad Fort, where an anti-encroachment drive on Sunday descended into violence, leading to large scale damage to property and subsequent arrest of 21 persons.
Deputy CM Pawar said vehicles and houses of people living close to the fort were damaged by miscreants and announced immediate relief of Rs 50,000 each.

Mayawati slammed the Congress government in Karnataka, after they put the labour bill on hold. The bill aimed to reserve jobs for locals.

Delhi Finance Minister Atishi on Friday demanded Rs 10,000 crore from the Centre for infrastructure development, claiming the city government got nothing in return over the past year despite its income tax contribution of Rs 2 lakh crore.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday claimed that the Muslim population in his state is growing around 30 per cent every 10 years, and they will become the majority by 2041.
Addressing a press conference in Guwahati, he said Muslims have now become 40 per cent of Assam's population as per "statistical sampling".
"By 2041, Assam will become a Muslim-majority state. It's a reality and nobody can stop it," he asserted. (PTI)
