Research is an important aspect in one’s career, said Prof Shreepathi Kalluraya of Mangalore University.

“The educational institutions should encourage the youth to engage in research activities,” he added.

He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Anveshan 2019’ an intercollegiate PG Students Research Conclave at Besant Evening College.

Prof Kalluraya said that research is smart work and not hard work. “It is an important activity and dedication towards research will help an individual to establish in life. To be a good researcher one should have good reading habit along with writing skills. The reading habit and writing skills should go hand-in-hand for the success of career development. Our writing should be useful to others for further research,” he advised.

The professor called upon the young students to develop habit of questioning.

He lauded Besant Evening College for conducting intercollegiate PG students’ research conclave to help students to involve in writing research papers in qualitative ways. He also said that students at post-graduate level should be involved in quality research to lead and sustain in the competitive world.

The College journal ‘Global Research Review’ was released on the occasion.

Devananda Pai, secretary of the Women’s National Educational Society presided over the function and explained about the importance writing research papers for the seminars, conferences and peer reviewed journals which will improve the academic status of an individual.

Principal Dr Lakshminarayan Bhat and others were present for the conclave.
