KPCC Campaign Committee president H K Patil on Thursday urged the Election Commission to lodge suo motu complaint against the misuse of Central agencies, including Income Tax department, Enforcement Directorate and CBI, by the Narendra Modi-led Union government.
Speaking to reporters here, the former minister said, “The Model Code of Conduct is in force. But the Modi government is misusing the constitutional/ statutory institutions. People will give a befitting reply to the BJP this election,” he said.
Continuing his tirade against the Modi government, Patil said, “You did not bring the black money stashed in the overseas banks. You did not unearth black money post demonetisation of higher denomination notes. What stopped you from raiding the premises all these days? Why now when the elections are around the corner,” he sought to know.
The Central government adopted this ploy during Assembly elections last year. I-T officials raided the premises of D K Shivakumar.
The court gave him a clean chit in one case. Modi wants to cling on to power and to stay afloat he is misusing the Constitutional bodies, Patil charged.
