The Kumaraswamy Layout police shot at a 28-year-old rowdy-sheeter and nabbed him in connection with the killing of an ATM security guard in Uttarahalli on March 23.

The accused Rajendra, a habitual offender, had over nine criminal cases including three murder cases, and was also drug addict. The police said he used to rob people for buying drugs.

On March 23, Rajendra was waiting at the ATM to rob the person who came to withdraw money.

Since nobody came in spite of waiting for a long time, the accused killed security guard Lingappa and took Rs 150 that was on him.

After verifying the CCTV camera footage, the police identified Rajendra and went to arrest him.

But the accused attacked the police with stones following which Inspector Ajresh Killedar fired in the air and later shot two rounds at Rajendra’s legs. Rajendra was later shifted to a private hospital where he is recovering.
