The Rajajinagar police have arrested seven people on the charge of robbery.
The suspects are Madhusudhan Gowda, Harish, Abhishek, Prakash, Praveen Dhanraj, Rahul Robins and Kishore Vinod. According to the police, they operated on ring roads and highways and were involved in six cases.
They would target alone travellers and rob their valuables including mobile phones. They would use the stolen mobile phone to book a car for rent. Then they would use the car to commit the robbery. After the crime, they would remove SIM cards from handsets and would sell them, the police said.
The police formed a team on a complaint filed by Sanjay, a techie, whom the suspects had robbed on West of Chord Road in the last week of June. Based on call details, they were arrested.
