Dayal Padmanabhan’s latest film ‘Thrayambakam’ has hit the screens on Friday. The film is a psychological thriller that revolves around a father and his daughter. The film stars Raghavendra Rajkumar, RJ Rohit and Anupama Gowda in prominent roles.
In a candid chat with Rakshitha M N, Raghavendra Rajkumar talks about the film, his role and more.
This is your second film after your recovery. How does it feel to come back on screen?
For me, my work is my mode of recovery. It heals me. Being back on the screen has given me an opportunity to rediscover myself.
Tell us about ‘Thrayambakam’.
The film is a new genre for me. It describes the relationship between a father and a daughter, and I think any father figure will connect to this film. Another thing
to make note of is that it is not hero-centric. We will have to give it to the screenplay; each and every character in the film have their own importance.
What can one expect from this film?
I can assure the audience that they will be on the edge of their seats throughout the film. They are many things in the film that can get you confused between virtual and real life.
You are working with young actors and directors. How is the experience like?
The thing about young actors is that they are focused. With many acting schools around, they have already learnt everything before entering the industry. Working with them is a new experience, and I like it.
What are your thoughts on new-age films?
The industry is changing and the only thing we can do is adapt to it. These days a lot of parallel films are being made. The story is being given more importance. Cinema is becoming a writers medium now.
Also, cinema was the only source of entertainment back then. But not so now. People aren’t patient to sit through long-duration films. They expect it to be crisp with less drama.
Any advice to upcoming actors?
I am still a learner. The only advice I can give to the youngsters is to never stop learning.
What do you have to say to our readers?
I am trying to experiment and try new things. Audience’s support is all I need on this journey.
