On Saturday, cycling enthusiasts are in for a big treat.

Saddled on their two-wheel medium, they can pedal around hunting treasures, take part in sprints, play a game of football and sign up for a host of other activities, all to mark the World Bicycle Day, celebrated on Sunday.

What's more, they get a chance to relive their childhood moment by spinning a discarded tyre across the street with a stick and win prizes by dribbling the ball with the front wheel of their cycles to score a goal in the 'Shaolin Cycle' event.

The events are organised by PEDL, the bicycle-renting subsidiary of Zoomcar, which claims to be India's first dockless bicycle company. The idea is to bring awareness on the role of the bicycle in rendering clean and green transportation.

The events would kick-off at 6 pm at the BDA Complex in HSR Layout. Besides Bengaluru, events will also be hosted in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune.

"We want to reach out to all our PEDL customers and new audience," Zoomcar CEO and co-founder Greg Moran said in a statement.

"We want to make them understand the purpose of providing a convenient, affordable and environmentally friendly cycle-sharing service for short trips around the city; helping serve local use cases such as grocery shopping, errand running, and last-mile commuting."

In the treasure hunt, participants must reach the endpoint after completing various tasks at four locations. The first two winners will get a fitness band, while holiday vouchers await the third or fourth participant.
