Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has earned the second rank in India for supporting street vendors under the Prime Minister's SVANidhi programme.
This recognition comes for providing financial assistance to a large number of vendors, second only to Delhi, and for rehabilitating them from non-vending areas.
BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath received the award from Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
