Bangalore University’s (BU) marks cards and graduation certificates will be available online upon request.
The university has started digitising documents as per the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the National Academic Depository (NAD) during 2018-19, the last academic year.
Senior university officials said digitisation will be taken up in phases. Soon, the certificates of past graduates from BU would be digitised too and made available through NAD.
“The first phase will provide online marks cards of first semester undergraduates from 2018 and convocation certificates of about 65,000 candidates who graduated during the 54th annual convocation held recently,” said professor C Shivaraju, registrar for evaluation at BU.
The academic certificates/documents made available online are authenticated and there is no need of a hard copy, officials clarified.
Steps to follow
Those who want to get their academic certificates online (first phase) have to register on the NAD portal, following the link provided by the university.
Those who register will get a registration number and secret code. “Once they receive the NAD acknowledgement slip, the same should be given to the principal or coordinator at the concerned college. As we receive communication from the college, the documents will be uploaded online,” explained Shivaraju.
There are two kinds of registrations. One is Aadhaar-based and the other, non-Aadhaar. For non-Aadhaar registrations, candidates must upload their scanned recent passport-sized photographs along with signatures.
