What made Sandalwood couple Meghana and Chiranjeevi Sarja’s wedding unique? They had two glittering ceremonies: first Christian and then Hindu.
The excitement in their households began with a church wedding at St Antony’s Church on April 29. In full attendance were family, relatives, and friends from across the film fraternity.
Meghana told Metrolife a day after the ceremony, “My mother always dreamt of a church wedding for her only child. Seeing Chiranjeevi and me walking down the aisle was a moment she will cherish.”
Chiranjeevi had never imagined he would have a church wedding. “When we did, I was thrilled to bits,” he says.
This was followed by a mehndi ceremony on April 30 and May 1, well before the Hindu wedding on May 2 which was indeed a grand affair.
The who’s who of Sandalwood turned up. Ambareesh and Sumalatha, V Ravichandran, Bharati Vishnuvardhan, Jayanthi, Girija Lokesh, Avinash, and Dwarakish came in to bless the couple.
Also seen were Puneeth Rajkumar, Darshan, Ragini, Priyanka Upendra, Radhika Kumaraswamy, Rachitha Ram, Anu Prabhakar and Raghu Mukherjee, Prajwal Devaraj and his family, T S Nagabharna and his family, Malayalam actors Nazriya and husband Fahadh Faasil, Ananya and Indrajit.
“I am so happy everybody we invited could make it. I feel complete and happy to be with Chiranjeevi, the man of my life,” Meghana says.
