The case pertaining to forged documents and illegal admissions into a private nursing college has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department, following an order from the home department.

The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences had been looking into the issue of illegal admissions into the Bethel and Hosmat group of institutions. An inquiry committee that was constituted to look into the issue of forged university documents and marks cards submitted its report recently.

Meanwhile, RGUHS officials placed the internal committee report before the Syndicate, which was accepted. A show-cause notice is being issued to the college, seeking an explanation.

Disaffiliating the Bethel and Hosmat group of nursing colleges was one of the recommendations the internal inquiry committee made in its 1,200-page document.

Previously, following complaints, the varsity had recovered 500 GB worth data from the college, which they said had proof of the illegal activities being carried out by the college for the past several years.

The case had come to light after an Iranian student had filed a complaint at the Tilak Nagar police station against the college after there were disparities in her scores. The student had approached the department of medical education with a complaint, stating that she had received a fabricated marks card after completion of her course.

While the authorities concerned had seized the documents from the college, they had filed a counter-complaint against the officials, alleging theft at the college premises.
