Bengaluru: BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath has directed officials to complete the Nelagadaranahalli main road widening project within two months.
He was speaking after the grievance redressal meet at Dasarahalli Zone on Friday.
The key problems addressed here included inspection of the Abbigere Lake and Abbigere park, inspection of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) centre to regulate stray dog population, and completion of the Shettihalli dry waste collection centre.
“A stretch of about 2.45 km on Nelagadaranahalli Main Road between Tumakuru Main Road and Ganga International School will be widened to 60 feet soon. The width of the road is currently 30-40 feet,” he said and added that widening of 1 km is already done and the remaining will be completed in two months.
He noted that the 45-acre Abbigere Lake will be desilted along with the construction of a sewage diversion drain, bund, inlet and outlet at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore. Fencing, toilets and a security personnel’s room will also be built, he added.
"A tender will be called for the maintenance of the Abbigere park. The gym equipment at the park is damaged and rusty.” He also instructed officials to complete the works on the dry waste collection centre at Shettihalli.
