Bengaluru: Despite the BBMP's grand efforts to honour Mahatma Gandhi's 155th birth anniversary with citywide clean-up initiatives, many areas in Bengaluru remained marred by garbage blackspots, with uncleared construction debris littering the streets.
Household waste collection services, however, were not disrupted.
Residents took to social media to voice their frustration, highlighting blackspots in areas such as Belathur Main Road, Sampigehalli Road on Thanisandra Main Road, near Mini Bal Bhavan in Jeevan Bima Nagar, Hennur Main Road, and Inner Ring Road near Ejipura.
Motorists also complained about debris dumped on the median between Ejipura and Sony World Junction, where a flyover is under construction. Although work has only started at one location, the rest of the median has become an informal dumping ground.
