Police raided as many as 1,051 places, including hotels, pubs, bars and restaurants, over the weekend for flouting the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA).

Police found at least five places flouting the rules and booked them under the said law. Police also slapped 960 petty cases against the violators. 

During the operation, police also installed 4,698 'No Smoking' signs in public places.
