The high court on Tuesday directed the commissioner of the Bangalore Development Authority to shell out Rs 50,000 for not submitting a detailed report in connection with the denotification of land in Arkavathy Layout.

Justice Vineet Kothari passed the order while hearing a petition filed by H B Shivaramu and six others, who sought the implementation of the 2010 Supreme Court order.

At the previous hearing, Justice Kothari had sought information from the BDA commissioner regarding the extent of land acquired in Hebbal and Kempapura, how much has been denotified till date, the number of sites and related details, in accordance with the apex court order.

However, the BDA failed to submit the details on Tuesday. The court then directed the BDA commissioner to deposit the amount from his own pocket for failing to comply with its order.
