Bengaluru: Income-tax officials on Tuesday held searches at outlets belonging to Meghana Foods, which runs several popular biryani restaurants in Bengaluru. The raids were held in outlets in Koramangala, Indira Nagar, Jayanagar, Residency Road and Marathahalli.
The raids began early morning and went on till late in the evening, sources said, adding that IT officials from the Karnataka-Goa zone took part in the operation.
Bengaluru's first Meghana Restaurant opened at Koramangala in 2006. The Hyderabad-headquartered food chain is owned by Padma Atluri and Rambabu Mandava and specialises in Andhra cuisine.
