Immigration officials have uncovered a major illegal job racket and arrested three people from Haryana, Rajasthan and Punjab.

The three went to Malaysia on a tourist visa, overstayed by forging the dates on their visas and searched for jobs. They returned only after they failed in their attempt to find employment.

Bachan Singh (38) from Kurukshetra in Haryana, Harish Bhamu (36) from Rajasthan and Maninder Singh (26 ) from Punjab have been booked for cheating and remanded to judicial custody.

A senior police official said the trio left for Malaysia on a tourist visa last year. Their agent promised them that he would make arrangement to get employment visa to work in Malaysia. He failed to get the visas and also the jobs, prompting the trio to return home. Since they had overstayed, their agent forged the arrival and departure seals on their passports.

When they arrived at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) from Kuala Lumpur, immigration officials found that the dates on the passport have not been matching.

During investigations, the trio admitted to the forgery and were arrested. Immigration officials sought the help to track down the Malaysian travel agent who forged the documents.

On Saturday, immigration officials arrested a 34-year-old electritian from Tamil Nadu who landed in KIA from Kuala Lumpur with a fake Canadian visa.
