Two days after the arrest of the film actor ‘Duniya’ Vijay and his three associates, the High Grounds police on Monday registered an FIR against H Krishnamurthy alias Kitty for headbutting the actor and vandalising his Range Rover car.
According to the police, the incident of headbutting happened on Saturday. Kitty, who had lodged a complaint of kidnapping and assault against the actor, was in the police station when Vijay walked in with his son.
Police said Vijay approached Kitty to greet him but the latter tried to headbutt him and shoved him away. Several policemen, including senior officers, were at the station at the time.
The High Grounds police had taken up a non-cognisable complaint after an irate mob claiming to be Maruthi Gowda and Kitty’s supporters tried to assault the actor and vandalise his car. The NCR was then taken up as an FIR on the insistence of the actor’s counsel.
Following a complaint by Vijay’s counsel, the police booked a case under IPC sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees or more) against the accused.
Bail hearing today
Meanwhile, the 8th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Court on Wednesday is set to decide Vijay’s bail plea.
Prison officials also rubbished media reports that the actor was given special treatment inside the jail. “He is eating jail food as we have not even allowed home food. No additional facilities have been given to him,” prison sources said.
