Bengaluru: A multi-vehicle collision near the RR Nagar arch in southwestern Bengaluru on Wednesday afternoon left a two-wheeler rider injured and four vehicles damaged.
Byatarayanapura traffic police personnel, overseeing vehicular movement at the junction close to the RR Nagar metro station, said the incident took place around 12.10 pm.
A private fuel tanker failed to slow down before the signal, hitting the rear of a Tata Ace goods vehicle. This impact, in turn, caused the goods vehicle to crash into the back of a car, leading to the car hitting a bike waiting at the signal.
Several boxes of fancy drinking glasses tumbled down from the goods vehicle, leaving shards on the road. A few passersby attempted to grab the boxes, but the police intervened and prevented them from doing so.
"Our officers were present at the signal, managing traffic, and they prevented people from walking away with the fallen glasses," a policeman said.
Police are yet to record the statement of the two-wheeler rider who sustained minor injuries in the crash. They confirmed that no one else suffered injuries.
A case will be filed against the tanker driver after recording the injured bike rider's statement, authorities said.
