A realtor has been arrested for plotting the abduction and murder of two of his business partners after they confronted him with a Rs 60-lakh fraud in their enterprise.

Tejas called his business partners — Balaji of Girinagar, and Prasad Babu of Rajarajeshwari Nagar — to different places on the pretext of returning the money on June 27.

He then got his associates to abduct them midway. They took the victims to a deserted area off Kanakapura Road, strangled and buried them, the police said. When the men didn't return home, their families made complaints to the Girinagar and Rajarajeshwari Nagar police, respectively.

During the investigation, the police learnt that Tejas was a business partner of the missing men. They also learnt about the misappropriation of funds, and that both Balaji and Babu had asked Tejas to return the money.

Suspecting Tejas' role, the police picked him up for questioning. A police officer maintained that Tejas was the prime suspect though the actual murders might have been carried out by someone else. While the police are still interrogating Tejas, the bodies haven't been found yet. The police are hunting for Tejas' associates.
