The colonial themed 'Tea Villa cafe' is located in Jayanagar.

Looking for a place to unwind after a long day? Head to the new outlet of themed ‘Tea Villa Cafe’. The good run in its HSR Layout outlet urged the franchise to open one more in the city for the tea-lovers.

The colonial villa themed cafe is not hard to locate in the busy streets of Jayanagar. Although it is just a week old, the cafe has already mustered fame and is buzzing in the evenings. The decor makes a pretty sight, and the ambience is warm and comforting.

They have two menus - a food menu and a tea menu (duh!). There are a plethora of options to choose from for the tea they serve which includes options under their exclusive handcrafted tea, herbal tea, Rooibos tea and Oolong tea.
The cafe serves only vegetarian food. It offers all-day breakfasts; continental, Indian and American breakfast trays with a mix of croissants, oats and pancakes to choose from. The restaurant also offers signature versions of Maggi.

For starters, the menu has a variety of vegetarian delicacies in global flavours to offer. Do taste the ‘cottage cheese with crispy spinach’ or ‘crispy lotus root honey chilli’ if you are a fan of spicy food. Try their ‘nachos’ and ‘paneer shawarma’ if you are looking for Mexican or Lebanese options. Sandwiches, burgers, soups and salads are also on the menu if you prefer something light.

Ratatouille

The main course options can make you dizzy as there is a range of delicacies ranging from Italian to Mexican cuisines. You might even want to experiment and try your hand at the fondues and pot curry options. The continental ‘Ratatouille’, a combination of a spicy and tangy dish served with pepper rice, is worth the try. They also have ‘Dal Khichdi’ or ‘Pav Bhaji Fondue’ for your Desi soul.

Desserts are fast-moving. The brownies, shakes and Mojitos are sure to delight your sweet tooth. ‘Chocolate loaded Waffle’ and ‘Nutella waffle’ are the crowd-favourites. Despite the name, the cafe does have a range of coffees to choose from as well. You can try the ‘White chocolate Mocha Frappe’ or the ‘Irish cream classic coffee’. According to the owner, Dhiren, their ‘villa special tea’ and the sizzlers are the most preferred.

The presentation of the food is worth the mention. The staff are polite, but the service is something that needs attention.

Tea Villa Cafe that we visited is located in 5th Main Road, 4th Block, Jayanagar.
