Following a quarrel with his live-in partner, a 29-year-old software engineer hanged himself to death at his house in Electronic City on Tuesday.
According to the police, Chandrashekar was in a live-in relationship with a woman named Ramya (28). Around three months ago, she had lodged a complaint with the Electronic City police that Chandrashekar abused her. But the two started living together again.
On Monday night, the two fought and Chandrashekar beat up Ramya. While she went to a hospital for first-aid, he locked the house and hung himself. When Ramya returned home she found the house locked. Finding something amiss the neighbours informed the police who rushed to the spot and broke open the door to find Chandrashekar hanging.
He had left behind a suicide note saying that nobody was responsible for his death and it was his own decision as he was upset with his life. The police contacted Chandrashekar’s family members to inform them. The Electronic City police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating further. His body has been shifted to a government hospital for postmortem.
A native of Nanjangud town in Mysuru district, Chandrashekar had come to the city four years ago and worked as an engineer with an IT firm in Electronic City, the police said.
