To improve train operations on the Yelahanka-Bangarpet section, the railways has carried out works to double the speed of the loop lines.

In a release, the railways said that the speed on the loop lines had been increased from from 15 kmph to 30 kmph. The maximum permissible speed on turnouts and loop lines of
Devanahalli (Road-2), Chikkaballapur (Road 1 and 3), Chintamani (Road 1 and 3), Srinivaspura (Road and 3) and Kolar (Road 1 and 3) except Sidlaghatta stations of the Yelahanka–Bangarapet section will be 30 km/h.

This will improve the mobility in the section as the trains can enter and exit loop lines at a faster speed.

The conventional rake travelling in these sections will save around 2 mins at the above stations due to increase in speed of loop lines. This section primarily caters to DEMU trains and frequent travelers, so it will benefit local commuters of the area.
