Bengaluru: Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, on Thursday, directed the deputy commissioners (DCs) and superintendents of police (SPs) to make foolproof arrangements to prevent malpractices during the village accountants’ (VA) examination slated for Sunday (October 27).
After the minister's meeting with DCs and SPs through video conference, a statement released by his office quoted Gowda as saying that there are about 4.71 lakh aspirants who will be appearing for the examination being held in at least 40 centres in each district. These centres can go up to 86 in some districts.
Therefore, there is a need for a stringent mechanism to curb malpractices during the exam.
“We have already witnessed problems like question papers being leaked in transit from the treasury to the exam centres and malpractices during recruitment examinations in recent years,” he said.
Kalaburagi, Yadgir and Vijayapura districts have been identified as “sensitive districts”.
