Bengaluru: A vigilance committee has been formed to initiate stringent action against sale of crackers in violation of rules in the city.
Speaking at a meeting in this regard, Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner G Jagadish said that the officials must compulsorily conduct a spot inspection before granting permission for sale of crackers. Photographs of the business premises should be enclosed in the file. Police and fire service personnel must conduct a joint inspection before issuing licence for a cracker godown, the DC said. The DC further said that a team of officials from transport, commercial tax and police department must conduct checking at the check post round the clock. He directed that the employees of the revenue department must not leave head quarters without prior permission.
