Bengaluru: A man, who claimed to have worked as an engineer in a tech company, has been found begging on the streets in Bengaluru.
The man’s story was first shared through three videos posted on social media platform Instagram by @sharath_yuvaraja_official over a week ago.
In the first video, he could be seen wearing a red T-shirt, appearing to be in a dishevelled state. He claimed he was an engineer working with a prominent tech consulting company in Global Village Tech Park, now known as Sattva Global City, near Mysuru Road, before he quit. His videos are going viral on social media, with support pouring in from netizens.
He claimed that he started drinking after he lost his parents, and now begs for a living. According to the account that posted his videos, he was found on the JSS College Road in Jayanagar 8th Block; someone who commented below the video said he spotted him a few days ago in 4th Block in a supposedly drunken state. He reportedly did not agree to be taken anywhere.
In the rest of the video and the second video, the man rambled about meditation, David Hume’s books, Albert Einstein’s work, and the brain’s hippocampus and amygdala.
In the third video, he said that he had been to Frankfurt in 2013 and moved to the city.
“Actually, religion, caste, all those things… see what did (have) I become, finally. I need to read more, I need to read more,” he could be heard saying.
Sharath, the person who posted the videos, has posted follow-up videos updating his followers on his case, including claiming to have contacted an NGO for help. He posted a recording with a supposed doctor, who said that no NGO would take in the person without police intervention.
