Today, business is not just about large corporate monopolies. Startups are the new poster boys in this field. Here is a list of five unique startups whose founders were students who didn’t wait till graduation to get going.

DIMENSION 5 is based out of Mysuru. They offer numerous services including graphic designing, web designing and marketing. They have done various projects which includes interior designing and web development. It is a team of two. Harsh Vijaykumar, 22, did his BCom from Vidhyaashram FGC, Mysuru. Siddharth Kashyap, 19, is a young entrepreneur who is now pursuing his BBA from Vidhyaashram FGC, Mysuru.

They are passionate about building their own path as entrepreneurs. These conceptual, funky and futuristic designers have in their client list names like Anuprayaas, ITChamps, Cresta, Paramount Constructions, etc.

“In smaller towns like Mysuru, people are used to an older generation of designs. We are trying to revolutionise graphic designing and marketing here,” says Siddharth.

In the near future, they plan to expand to Bengaluru as well.

THE HONEST CRITIQUE was founded by Ananya Pandey,19 and Ratnadeep Chakraborty, 19. They review published works of fiction, poetry, and literary and cultural criticism. They started this company on November 22 last year and now have have 11 people working under them.

“We share and post videos and articles focusing on book reviews and interviews with various authors.”

They have collaborated with speakers like Harnidh Kaur, Devdutt Pattnaik, Shehla Rashid and Rajdeep Sardesai on Instagram.

They have also collaborated with authors like Durjoy Datta, Gur Mehar Kaur, Nikita Singh and Sudeep Nagarkar to name a few.

DIALOGUE

DIALOGUE is a non-profit student run organisation with the primary purpose of bridging the gap between public and private education in India.

They bring students on the same platform and give them equal prospects to speak and contribute towards the betterment of the society and the administration. It was founded by Sharan KA who is the President.

They are temporarily placed at church street. In a span of 10 months now, they have touched over 10,000 students through various forms of engagement and are also present in about 40 institutions. Their first event was a speaker series which saw participants like Shashi Tharoor, Prakash Belawadi and Rajeev Gowda.

FRAMES IN MOTION is known for their skills and creativity of photography, videography, post processing
for photography and animation.

They are a team of 5 - Vikram Garla- 18, Nakul Ponnappa-19, Rajath Magaji - 19, Noel Alben-19, and
Rohan Sathish-19.

They started about a year and a half ago and started exploring photography as an art. About four months ago, they were registered as a legal firm in Bangalore. They have worked on many projects. They also collaborated with the YouTuber Niharika NM. When asked about future plans, they replied “Just to be able to express our creativity in a way that we love and to absorb all the experiences and information as possible.”

Nathi Nonsense was founded by Manasvi Shah, who is studying in Ahmedabad, and Manasvi Nag, who is studying in Bengaluru. They are both 19.

They have started a blog discussing various issues in and around the city. They are a team of 10. The word ‘Nathi’ means not in Gujarati, hence the name ‘Nathi Nonsesne’ literally translates to ‘Not Nonsense’ in English. The blog talks about their experiences, art and culture, stories and their opinions about the civilization. They organize events ranging from open mics to debates on social issues.

They also had a radio show which talked about issues concerning youth and giving them a platform to express themselves at Ahemdabad’s first community radio station, Radio Nazariya 107.8 FM. ‘Nathi Nonsense’ is now a well established brand by now in Ahemdabad and they wish to expand to Bengaluru as well.

Events and collaborations are being planned for the city in the near future.
