A 25-year-old man was arrested for manhandling a traffic sub-inspector for stopping him from going in a one-way road confronting the deputy chief minister’s convoy on Friday.

Rama, an accountant who resides in Subramanya Nagar, was coming on the wrong side from GG Palya on his Royal Enfield bike as he headed towards the RMC Yard. The traffic police asked him to stop as Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara's convoy was heading to Tumakuru.

Rama took the one-way side and went in the opposite direction towards the convoy. Police sub-inspector Venkatesh stopped him on the way, but Rama roughed him up, abused and pushed him. He also told the SI that he will have him suspended.
