Former minister and BJP MLA R Ashoka on Sunday charged that Congress MLA Anand Singh (Vijayanagar) had been fatally attacked at the Eagleton Resort, and that the Congress was trying “cover up” the entire incident.
Reacting to reports about Singh’s hospitalisation, Ashoka claimed that the MLA had been stabbed in the stomach.
“Singh has been stabbed in the stomach. He has also suffered severe head injuries. I have worked as the Home minister and I’m privy to information.
The police should register a suo motu case and put the culprit behind bars. Though
Singh has been fatally attacked, the Congress is trying to cover up the entire issue,” he said.
Ashoka also said that the Congress had “illegally” held its MLAs at resorts. “The Congress has put Karnataka to shame. The party is known for its goonda culture,” he added.
BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa sought the intervention of Governor Vajubhai Vala and Legislative Assembly Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar and urged them to take stock of the ongoing political developments in the state.
