Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah on Saturday, commented that democracy is murdered as the BJP formed the government immorally.
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating MLA H P Manjunath’s office in Hunsur, Siddaramaiah said, “The people of the state did not vote the BJP to power, but Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa formed the government forcefully. The government is not capable of executing any programme. It is suffering without development, he said.
Siddaramaiah criticised MLC A H Vishwanath and said that he was elected accidentally in 2018. But, his joker like behaviour made the segment to go for by-poll. The Congress will come to power in the next term, he said.
Siddaramaiah said that Yediyurappa is tired of driving his ‘Dakota Bus’. “Even after one and a half year, the government has failed to take up any development activity. The government has cancelled many pro-people programmes launched by the Congress government. BJP is pro-capitalist and the Central government’s agriculture policies are a classic example for it,” he said.
Siddaramaiah said that it is not proper to claim that the people, who do not donate for Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, are anti-Hindus. “I have given funds to construct a Ram Mandir in my native village. I am a Hindu with Mahatma Gandhiji’s principles. But, BJP people are Hindus with Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s principle,” he said.
Siddaramaiah said, “The BJP purchased MLAs. I had never seen such politics in my political career. The voters will never forgive the sold out MLAs. It is proved in Hunsur bypoll.”
Congress leader B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan also criticised Vishwanath, by calling him as a joker. “Vishwanath, who was elected as an MLA on JD(S) ticket, joined the BJP for power. But, now, he has nothing. He is like a joker now,” he said.
Former minister H C Mahadevappa, former MP R Dhruvanarayan, state Congress women’s wing president Pushpa Amarnath, MLC R Dharmasena and MLA Anil Chikkamadu were present.
