Five cars hit against each other causing damage to two cars belonging to the entourage of former chief minister Siddaramaiah in a minor mishap at Gowdalli Gate on the Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway, in the taluk, on Wednesday morning. Siddaramaiah was a bit away in another car.
Siddaramaiah, also chairman of the coordination committee of the JD(S)-Congress coalition government, was going to Mysuru, from
Bengaluru, when the ‘tail’ vehicle of the entourage hit against another vehicle coming from behind. The other vehicle was a standby in the entourage.
The mishap occurred when a KSRTC bus tried to overtake the ‘tail’ vehicle. To give way for the bus, the driver of the ‘tail’ car applied brakes.
Thus five cars that were behind, including the standby car, collided against each other. Nobody was hurt in the mishap. The traffic on the highway was affected for some time.
