Chamarajanagar: 177 frontline workers including DC get inoculated

In all, 177 people got inoculated, including Deputy Commissioner M R Ravi, with the second phase of vaccination drive launched for the frontline workers, in Chamarajanagar, on Monday.

The officials belonging to Revenue department, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, the police and local body members have been identified for the vaccination.

Interestingly, there was no enthusiasm among the workers to get inoculated as only 50% was reported on Day One. The vaccination drive is being conducted at the district hospital, taluk hospitals in Kollegal, Gundlupet, Yalandur and primary health centres.

In all, 3,802 people have been identified as frontline workers and only 177 got inoculated on the first day. The drive is conducted for two more days, said Health and Family Welfare officer M C Ravi.

DC Ravi was back to work after getting vaccinated. He called upon the identified persons to shed fear and get vaccinated to keep the virus at bay. "I am fine and involved in day-to-day official activities after getting the dose. There is no need for any kind of anxiety," he said.
