Deputy Commissioner P I Sreevidya directed the concerned authorities to complete the survey on the new route meant for the movement of buses in the city.
Speaking during a meeting at her office on Wednesday on the newly proposed route for the movement of private buses in Madikeri, she said that the survey should be completed soon so that the buses can move to the new private bus stand on the new route.
CMC engineer Vanitha said that there was a need to widen the Raja Seat and Race Course Road, along with construction of a retaining wall and sought more time to complete the work.
CMC vice president T S Prakash said that public opinion must be sought before taking up the work on widening the road.
The DC said that the CMC has to meticulously plan the route for the movement of buses.
CMC President Kaveramma Somanna, CMC standing committee president Unnikrishna, Superintendent of Police Dr Suman D Pennekar and Private Bus Operators’ Association president Hosuru Ramesh Joyappa were present among others.
